Resume and application tips for bank and government jobs in India
Many bank and government recruitments use an online form rather than a resume, but interviews, private banks and PSU roles still ask for one. A neat, accurate resume and a ready set of details save time in every case.
Keep your details ready
Forms ask for the same facts again and again, so keep one file of them.
- Full name exactly as on your certificates.
- Date of birth, category and domicile where the notice asks.
- Marks, percentage or CGPA for every degree, with year and board.
- Experience dates in day, month and year.
- Scanned photo and signature in the size the notice asks.
Resume for interviews and private bank roles
Use a one-page format with education, experience, skills and certifications. For sales and relationship roles, show numbers such as targets met and accounts handled. For clerical and officer roles, show accuracy and the systems you have used.
Accuracy matters most
A mismatch between your form, resume and certificates can lead to disqualification during document checks. Copy dates and marks from your documents, not from memory.
Before the interview
Carry originals and photocopies of every certificate, and keep a printed copy of your resume. Practise explaining each line of it, since panels often pick one entry and ask you to go deeper.
